OCTOBER IS THE MONTH WHERE YOU CAN HELP STOP NUCLEAR POWER IN IDAHO!
Please let the Alliance know whether you would like to attend the first hearing regarding the proposed nuclear plant in Elmore County this Wednesday, October 8th. Transportation will leave the Alliance office at 5:15 p.m. The hearings are at the Mountain Home Junior High School and will begin at 6:30. The developer will be presenting his case. No oppositional testimony will occur on this date, but a peaceful demonstration is being organized and it is critical to attend and show your opposition to AEHI’s proposed rezone request. Call 344-9169 or email: lwoodruff@snakeriveralliance.org to reserve your ride by 5 p.m. Monday October 6th.

HEARING DEADLINES AND SCHEDULE:

Written testimony and requests to testify can be sent to:
Growth and Development Department
520 East South Street
Mountain Home, Idaho
83647
Written testimony by groups and individuals and requests to testify on behalf of a group of 10 or more can be submitted via email to: bknight@elmorecounty.org

All the hearings, starting on October 8th, will take place at Mountain Home Junior High and will start at 6:30 pm.

October 1st: Written testimony is due to the P&Z and any group (defined as 10 or more) wanting to testify must submit a request to testify by this date. Individuals planning to testify do not need to submit a request. All testimony must be relevant to land use issues. Contact the Alliance for clarifications on what constitutes “land use issues.”

October 8th: The applicant, Don Gillispie and his company Alternate Energy Holdings Inc will present their application and argue that rural agricultural land is suited for industrialization. BE PRESENT TO PEACEFULLY DEMONSTRATE AND WITNESS THIS TESTIMONY!

October 22nd : Large groups (defined as 10 or more) are given 10 minutes to speak in opposition to the proposal. GET A GROUP YOU ARE A PART OF TO TESTIFY!

October 29th: Individuals are allowed 3 minutes to speak in opposition to the plant. Elmore County folks need to be given priority and the Alliance will work to ensure this happens. Nevertheless, your voice matters and you will get a chance to speak. MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! NUCLEAR POWER EFFECTS US ALL!

November 5th: The AEHI gets an unlimited rebuttal. BE PRESENT TO PEACEFULLY DEMONSTRATE AND LET AEHI KNOW YOU OPPOSE THEIR DIRTY IDEA!

BE ACTIVE, MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD, AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT IN IDAHO!
