Snake River Alliance Receiving Funds from Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal in Coordination with The Guacamole Fund

BOISE, ID—During its 30th Anniversary, the Snake River Alliance, Idaho’s only nuclear watchdog and advocate for clean energy, has been invited to do information tabling at the September 2nd concert by legendary musicians, Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal at their Boise stop on The BonTaj Roulet Tour. The artists will perform at the Idaho Botanical Garden Tuesday night and the Snake River Alliance will be there to distribute information about its current campaigns. To learn more about the fundraising component of the BonTaj Roulet Tour, please visit http://www.bontaj.com/thecollective.

Andrea Shipley, executive director of the Snake River Alliance said, “We want to thank Bonnie Raitt and her team of people for being so supportive of the Alliance over the years. We are thrilled to welcome Bonnie Raitt back to town during our 30th Anniversary year.”

Bonnie Raitt has performed in concert to benefit the Snake River Alliance in the past including the 1996 Stop the Shipments event with Jackson Browne and John Trudell.

Shipley continued, “Our work is made possible by the generosity of talent, spirit and contributions of supporters including Bonnie Raitt.”

At the end of the tour, the BonTaj Collective Action Fund will make grants to organizations working in the cause areas listed on the tour’s website in proportion to votes received. Supporters of the Alliance are welcome and encouraged to vote for the issues that are its priority including Safe & Sustainable Energy and Environmental Protection. All four cause areas are Safe & Sustainable Energy, Environmental Protection, Social Justice & Human Rights and Blues/Music Education.

The Snake River Alliance works for responsible solutions to nuclear waste and a nuclear-free future. It seeks to strengthen Idaho's economy and communities through the implementation of renewable energy sources in Idaho and the promotion of energy efficiency and conservation. This year marks its 30th Anniversary as Idaho's only nuclear watchdog and advocate for clean energy.
