Following recent completion of an environmental assessment, the U.S. Department of Energy will begin using a new site at the Idaho National Laboratory to test the effectiveness of protective devices used against explosives attacks by terrorists.

Boise, Idaho -- Idaho's downwinders turned out in force Sunday afternoon to share their concerns with the government agencies responsible for Divine Strake. The explosive experiment slated for the Nevada desert has many worried they are once again in the path of radioactive fallout.

The Salt Lake Tribune, December 5, 2006...WASHINGTON - Sen. Orrin Hatch and Rep. Jim Matheson wrote to the Pentagon last month, expressing disappointment with the decision to conduct Divine Strake - a major explosion designed to help develop bunker-buster bombs - in Nevada.
